Diocese Assembly of Social Communications Ministry

The Diocese’s Social Communications Ministry held its first General Assembly at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral School auditorium, last October 27. Eighty-six delegates from the different parishes attended, with Bing del Rosario and Sheryl Coronel from the CTK Media Ministry attending. Drawing inspiration from the message of Pope Francis during World Communications Day 2018, the theme for the General Assembly was ‘The Search for Truth: Social Communications at the Service of Peace’. Stewardship Committee Releases Gift Fridge Magnets

The Stewardship Committee, through heads Benjie and Wins Mirasol, released their end-of-2018 refrigerator magnet give-aways to their regular Stewardship donors and to the PPC members during the First Advent Sunday masses. The cute magnets, a set of four and squarish in shape, are reminders of ‘Stewardship as a Way of Life’. They replace the desktop calendar that the Committee had always given away at the end of the year. Fr. Harold Anthony S. Parilla was the leader for CTK’s Advent Recollection last Saturday, November 17 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Divine Mercy Chapel. Encouraged by the good feedback received from his CTK Lenten recollection last March, Formation Ministry Head David Ong requested him lead the Advent Recollection. The topic for Fr. The Seniors Ministry a.k.a. Sunrise Ministry, held its general assembly last November 24, a Saturday, at Matthew- Mark Rooms. Nearly a hundred senior citizens showed up, mostly from Barangay Libis. The Catholic Women’s League-CTK Chapter, led by Alma Yeh, held the annual Advent Recollection for Kasambahays and Drivers last December 3 and December 4 at St. Luke Room, Parish Formation Center. Participants had a choice of either Monday December 3 or Tuesday December 4, with homeowners opting to divide their housekeepers’ attendance between the two dates. CWL Visits Camp Karingal Ladies Dorm ‘PDLs’

The Catholic Women’s League of Christ the King Parish conducted their annual outreach in the Ladies Dormitory of Camp Karingal last October 19. The organization has been visiting and conducting this annual outreach for the past 20 years, serving the spiritual and immediate material needs of the dormitory’s ‘persons deprived of liberty’, or PDLs. In the past, material assistance given included hygiene kits, t-shirts, sanitary napkins, and other personal needs. Last year, 600 utility storage boxes were donated for their personal belongings. Mother Butler Mission Guild Provides Free Vestments to Poor Parishes

The Mother Butler Mission Guild Manila to which the MBMG CTK belongs held an exhibit of vestments, stoles, altar linens, vessels, mass kits, and sick call kits last November 5 and November 6 at the San Carlos Seminary in Guadalupe. The exhibit was timed to coincide with the seminary homecoming, with the materials on display to be given for free to ‘homecomers’ coming from the poor parishes in the Philippines, especially provincial ones.
