Christ the King held its annual Lenten recollection for kasambahays and drivers last April 10, Holy Monday, and April 11, Holy Tuesday at St. Luke’s Room, from 9 am to 5 pm. The program was exactly the same for both days.

The recollection was organized by the Catholic Women’s League, or CWL, headed by Kim Cua. The recollection was facilitated by Fr. Serge Maniba for both days. Fr. Serge conducted the recollection in three different sessions – two in the morning, and the third and last in the afternoon, after the catechetical talk by catechist Weng Agramon. The day concluded with the Way of the Cross at 3:30 pm and a mass at 4:15 pm.

Fr. Serge knew that the audience had short attention spans so he resorted to a lot of visuals and even videos, such as an segment from Lion King, which had the main message – ‘don’t forget who you are’.

For day 1, CWL drew in 38 attendees, all of them from the different villages nearby – Acropolis, Green Meadows, Ivory Court, Enclave, White Plains and St. Ignatius.
