Pilgrimage to Pampanga Churches for Buklod ng Panginoon
Buklod ng Panginoon, the renewal movement based in St. Ignatius Village, now headed by Cita Pabillo who took over from Lulay dela Cruz, held a pilgrimage of Pampanga churches last April 25. The ambitious itinerary included five landmark Pampanga churches:
‣ Holy Rosary Parish Church of Angeles, Pampanga
‣ Archdiocesan Shrine of Christ Our Lord of the Holy Sepulchre, also in Angeles, Pampanga
‣ Met ropoli tan Cathedral of San Fernando, in San Fernando, Pampanga
‣ San Guillermo Parish Church in Bacolor, Pampanga
‣ St. James the Apostle Parish Church in Betis, Guagua, Pampanga
Buklod ng Panginoon had recently started to recruit from the younger generation, mostly those serving in the SIV homeowners association, the barangay, as well as those serving as lectors and commentators of Christ the King. So the pilgrimage was also organized as a way for the old members to get to know the newer recruits and vice versa.
Before they left early in the morning, the ladies agreed that their ‘pa-baon’ verse was going to be lifted from Mark 16:15 – ‘and Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature’.
The SIV ‘pilgrims’ had buffet luncheon between churches then had a midafternoon halo-halo snack at Razon’s before heading back home.
