CTK Ladies of Charity’s Second Quarter 2018 Activities
The CTK Ladies of Charity’s livelihood project scholars had their ‘graduation’ last April 3. The 26 graduates completed the Hilot Massage training and had their mass graduation ceremony at the Inner Lobby of Quezon City Hall.
LOC had teamed up with QC’s Social Services Development Department, Vocational Development Division, to offer the training to Barangays Libis and Bagumbayan residents.
The 26 graduates were accompanied by LOC representatives Tonette Arrizabal, Beth Monadero, Nars Malatuba, and Maritess Turingan. The participants had their practicum two weeks earlier, last March 15, at the CTK Lingap Center. CTK parishioners who came got free massages, which included Msgr. Tony Mortillero.
Then last May 16, the CTK Ladies of Charity started a second Hilot Massage livelihood training, this time at Krus na Ligas. There were only 17 participants, which was acceptable given that the available venue was quite small.
The training was held every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm from April to June.
The Ladies of Charity, in charge of the feeding program for a hundred children at Libis elementary School, gave a special treat to the feeding recipients on the last day of feeding, March 16, which was also the last day of school. All the children received chips and a Cornetto ice cream cone, in addition to their regular sumptuous meal. The ice cream cones were courtesy of Tessie Fajardo and Mila Bangco.
The LOC ladies feted Fr. Serge Maniba at UCC Eastwood last April 24 on the occasion of Fr. Serge’s 22nd priestly anniversary.
The LOC ladies of Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows hosted the LOC Diocesan Lenten Recollection at CTK, followed by a mass, last Saturday March 17, with Fr. Rolando Tuazon as Retreat Master.
Eighteen CTK LOC members attended the 21st annual convention of Ladies of Charity in Roxas, Capiz last April 14-16.
