CTK Hosts 2nd Quarter OLPH Vicariate Assembly
Christ the King Parish hosted the May 22nd quarterly assembly for the Vicariate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help to which CTK belongs.
The vicariate assembly was held at 7 pm at the Parish Social Hall, right after the 6 pm mass at the Divine Mercy Chapel. There are seven parishes in the OLPH vicariate, headed by the Vicar Forane, Fr. Arnel Recinto of St. John Paul II in Eastwood.
Jing Karaos gave a summary of the results of the recent diocese survey. Among the recommendations: a workshop for priests on how to give constructive feedback to fellow clergy; reinforce the stewardship, formation, vocation and media ministries of the parishes; strengthen the ‘pamayanans’ or BEC geographies; minimize duplications in parish activities; promote livelihood programs; and continue to clarify structures, policies, and procedures.
Aside from the survey results and a short presentation on how to manage parish meetings more effectively by Jojo Sumpaico, the PPC reps of the OLPH parishes took the opportunity to say farewell to five of the seven parish priests who were being transferred. Fr. Arnel Recinto is leaving St. John Paul II and moving to Mt. Carmel Project 6, being replaced by Fr. Aris Sison. Fr Bong Tupino is leaving CTK Greenmeadows for Holy SacriCice in UP Diliman, being replaced by Fr. Steve Zabala. Fr. Louie Caupayan is leaving San Roque and taking on the parish priest role at Holy Family Kamias, with Fr. Larry Garces taking his place. Fr. Jun Nadua is leaving Miraculous Medal for Holy Redeemer Masambong and his Miraculous Medal position is taken over by Fr. Nelson Orqueta. And Fr. Ronald Macale is moving to take over both St. Joseph Aurora Blvd. and San Isidro Labrador parishes, and is being replaced at Nativity of Our Lord by Fr. Victor William Garcia.
Only two OLPH parishes will keep their parish priests for the next six years. Msgr. Jun Bugaoan will keep his post at OLPH 13th Avenue; ditto with Fr. Jojo Monis of Transfiguration Parish.
