Fr. Parilla Leads Parish Lenten Recollection
The Parish Lenten Recollection, scheduled for the Holy Paschal Triduum on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday, went ahead as scheduled. from March 29 to 31 at the CTK main church, from 9:30 am to 12 noon.
The recollection facilitator was Fr. Harold Anthony S. Parilla, a Professor of Theology at the St. John Marie Vianney Theological Seminary in Cagayan de Oro. Ordained to the priesthood in 2003, Fr. Harold is an alumnus of San Jose Seminary and graduated Summa Cum Laude at the Loyola School of Theology in Ateneo de Manila. After some years of work at the local seminary and in the chancery of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, Fr. Harold left for Rome to obtain a licentiate degree in canon law at the Pontifical Gregorian University. His academic resume also includes masteral degrees in pastoral ministry and educational management from two Jesuit universities in the Philippines. For the most part, his ministry in the Church involves teaching and formation work. When circumstances allow, he also facilitates at spiritual retreats for various groups. He was a former student of the Archbishop of Manila, Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle and was referred to by the Cardinal as ‘one of the finest students I have had in forty years of teaching’.
