Mother Butler Mission Guild Provides Free Vestments to Poor Parishes
The Mother Butler Mission Guild Manila to which the MBMG CTK belongs held an exhibit of vestments, stoles, altar linens, vessels, mass kits, and sick call kits last November 5 and November 6 at the San Carlos Seminary in Guadalupe. The exhibit was timed to coincide with the seminary homecoming, with the materials on display to be given for free to ‘homecomers’ coming from the poor parishes in the Philippines, especially provincial ones.
MBMG also set up a table ten days later, from November 15 to 17 at San Jose Seminary inside the Ateneo de Manila University compound in Loyola. As with San Carlos Seminary, San Jose alumni priests coming from poor parishes can request for, and are given, the church and mass materials. Aside from giving away free mass and church materials, MBMG receives requests via mail and e-mail from the provincial parishes where the parish priests, having heard of the MBMG apostolate, request for the materials and where they have the stock and the request deemed meritorious, the goods are sent free via courier.
MBMG production of vestments, stoles and altar linens takes place the whole year non-stop to get ready for the annual San Carlos and San Jose homecomings and to accommodate written requests.
