Traditional Midnight Masses Celebrated at Parish Church and Villages
The Christmas Vigil Masses last December 24th were held at 6 pm, 8 pm, and 10 pm and marked with significant drama. Celebrated by Fr. Steve Zabala, offered by the CTK Parish Pastoral Council and sung to by the CTK Youth Choir, the 10 pm mass, the one that drew the biggest crowd, began with ‘lights out’ as a group of selected Mustard Seed children led the offertory, carrying lighted candles.
The children, all dressed in white, then went up the stairs to light up the belen and, on cue, the church lights were turned on. Fr. Steve Zabala then blessed the belen. At the end of the mass, the blessed image of the baby Jesus was help up by the assisting deacon for veneration by the parishioners.
Some of the villages also celebrated their midnight masses. Acropolis had its midnight mass at 8 pm, presided by Fr. Jojo Gatdula.
