PPC Kicks off CTK’s Friday Way of the Cross
As part of its annual Lenten activities, Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows holds Way of the Cross devotion every Friday at the main church immediately following the 6 pm mass. The Friday devotion to the Way of the Cross is organized by the Worship Ministry headed by Peter and Leila Banico. The first Friday Way of the Cross was held last March 8, officiated by Fr. Steve Zabala and led by the CTK Parish Pastoral Council members.
The Sponsors of the other Friday Way of the Cross at the main church are:
‣ March 15, organized by the Social Services & Development Ministry, Public Affairs Ministry, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Women’s League, Ladies of Charity, Buklod ng Panginoon, and Mother Butler Mission Guild

CTK also scheduled the Way of the Cross in the different villages that make up the parish, all taking place at 8 pm except for the April 9 at Libis which was scheduled for 5 pm. The village coordinators assigned 14 village families to each of the stations. The first village to stage its Way of the Cross was Acropolis, with Fr. Steve presiding.
The full village Way of the Cross schedule was as follows:
‣ March 11, Monday, in Acropolis Clubhouse
‣ March 12, Tuesday, in White Plains barangay grounds
‣ March 13, Wednesday, in Ivory Court and Enclave
‣ March 19, Tuesday, Corinthian Hills ‣ March 26, Tuesday, St. IgnaJus
‣ March 27, Wednesday, La Maison ‣ April 8, Monday, Greemeadows 1
‣ April 9, Tuesday, Libis (at 5pm)
‣ April 10, Wednesday, Corinthian Gardens & Greenwich
‣ April 11, Thursday, Arcadia
For every station, the officiating priest starts with ‘We adore you, O Christ and we bless you.’ To which the crowd responds, ‘Because by your holy cross, you have redeemed the world.’
The lector reader assigned to the station then reads the Scriptures or Tradition passage. The designated family member reads the Meditation passages. After, the priest leader would lead the congregation in the specific prayer for that station, but which always ended with ‘Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us.’ The priest then blesses the family members and thanks them for their service before moving on to the next station, even while the Way of the Cross song is sung in the background.
At the end of the 14th station, the priest leads the Concluding Prayers, culminating in ‘. . . bring back to life all Your faithful servants to be with Him in the eternal life in heaven . . ‘.
Most of the village coordinators staged a mini salu-salo for the village parishioners after the Way of the Cross.
