Fr. Bong Tupino to Lead the Pilgrimage Tour to the Adriatic Coast with Medjugorje

Christ the King Parish is inviting its parishioners and regular mass goers to a Marian Pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina to visit the Mary Queen of Peace Shrine. Although Medjugorje and Mostar, the Bosnia- Herzegovina capital, are the primary destinations, the pilgrimage includes visits to other shrines of Our Lady in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. The pilgrimage is from April 14 to 28, 2018 and the Pilgrimage Chaplain is CTK’s own Fr. Bong Tupino. Bible Enthronement Sunday at Christ the King Parish, January 28

January 28, 2018 was National Bible Sunday. Christ the King Greenmeadows Parish, like the other parishes in the Diocese of Cubao, assigned specific families to each of the weekend masses for the Enthronement of the Holy Bible, not only at the main church but in all the village masses - Corinthian Garden, White Plains, Corinthian Hills, Saint Ignatius and Acropolis - as well. The Parish celebrated the Feast of the Sto. Niño last January 21. In commemoration of the feast of the Child Jesus, all the CTK masses, including the January 20 anticipated masses, featured the special blessing of children and the blessing of beautiful Sto. Niño images borrowed from or donated by parishioners. Devotion to the Santo Niño (Holy Child), an image of Jesus as a small boy typically dressed as a king, is a mainstay of Philippine Catholic life. Mustard Seed Ministry

Mina Mejia, who with husband Sonny Mejia, currently heads the CTK Children’s Ministry a.k.a. ‘Mustard Seed’, gave a short background on the ministry. ‘The Ministry has been teaching the children of the 9 am Sunday mass goers since August of 2015. Through fun and engaging activities, the children have learned more about the Gospel and our Catholic traditions. Solemnity of the Epiphany

CTK celebrated the Solemnity of the Epiphany last January 7. The feast of the Epiphany celebrates the three events that Christ has made Himself known to the world, manifesting the mission and divinity of Christ: the visit of the Magi, the baptism of Jesus, and the miracle at Cana. The visit of the Magi is emphasized on Epiphany Day. Christ's baptism is celebrated the next day, and the miracle at Cana the Sunday after that. Christ the King Parish had its Advent Recollection, ‘Christmas Has Two Faces’, last December 9 at 10 am at the Divine Mercy Chapel, led by Fr. Francis Alvarez, SJ. Fr. Francis was ordained in 2009, completed his Licentiate in Sacred Theology with a concentration in Scripture in 2013, and then completed his Doctorate in Theology and Education from Boston College just this year. Hangad Music Ministry Celebrates 26th Anniversary with Gesu Concert

PPC’s Ministries Present Plans and Programs for 2018

The traditional CTK Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) planning meeting was held last October 28 to 29 at Sonya’s Garden, attended by the ministry heads and representatives of parish organizations who comprised the PPC. The full agenda included an introduction by Fr. Bong who set the parameters for the planning as well as the guidelines and why the exercise was important. Other diocese directions were discussed. Fr. October 28 Candlelight Procession Marks End of Fatima Centennial Devotion

Last October 28, a Saturday, the Fatima Centennial Devotion formally concluded at Christ the King Parish with the candlelight procession after the 7:30 pm anticipated mass. The procession started from Christ the King parish church to Acropolis and back. At the end of the procession, as the Fatima image arrived back at the main church, Fr.
