Activity-Filled January and February 2018 for Ladies of Charity
The LOC ladies gave a send-off breakfast last January 15 for 19-year old Clifford Barizo, LOC’s very Qirst UP scholar (taking up B.S. Geography) under the LOC scholarship program. Clifford was recently tapped as an exchange student in Asturias, Spain, with the University of Oviedo, for six months, from January to July, 2018. Clifford is from Bagumbayan and had been a CTK scholar for the last six years – since second year high school.
CTK’s Ladies of Charity regularly conduct catechism classes for its high school and college scholars; in fact, attendance is a prerequisi te to maintaining the scholarship, aside from keeping a GPA of 85. Welcoming back their scholars after the Christmas break, for the January 6 catechism class, LOC held an adoration of Baby Jesus and Offering of Love Letters to Mama Mary.
February 12 was the ‘Libis Lolas’ Day Out. The ‘Lingap lolas’, so called because the Ladies of Charity pick them up from the Libis community every week and gather them at the Lingap Center for prayers, mass, reQlection, sharing, snacks, and the occasional medical check-up, were treated to an ’outing’ by the Ladies of Charity to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Sta. Mesa Heights.
