Meet the Other Members of the Stewardship Committee

Angel Viloria was recruited into the committee by Nick and Mila Pena, who _irst led the Stewardship Committee. Angel is the author of the book ‘Live to Give’, a little handy booklet that is given to promote stewardship in the parish, and ‘Mom's a Stewardess - Stories of Stewardship’, published by Claretian Publications. Her book won the Best Book in Family Life award at the 2009 Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards. Angel has more than 25 years of work experience in the academe and in credit rating. Leadership Transition in Stewardship Committee: Meet Benjie and Wins Mirasol

Couple Benjie and Wins Mirasol formally took over the reins of the CTK Stewardship Committee as they presided over the February 4 monthly Stewardship Committee meeting, held at the convent conference room. At the meeting, Benjie and Wins reviewed with the group the major 2017 plans and programs of Stewardship discussed in the PPC planning meeting last year and the status of implementation of these programs. Fr. Bong Tupino will be the pilgrimage chaplain for the April 16 to 29, 2017 edition of ‘Enthralling Eastern Europe’, a ‘Journeys of Faith’ pilgrimage tour that takes pilgrims through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Bishop Raul Celebrates 79th Birthday

Bishop Raul Q. Martirez, former Bishop-Emeritus of San Jose de Antique and now retired guest bishop a t Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows, celebrated his 79th birthday last February 9. In a joyous Eucharistic mass at 7 am at the Divine Mercy Chapel, Bishop Raul celebrated his thanksgiving mass, assisted by Fr. Bong Tupino, Msgr. Tony Mortillero, and Fr. Serge Maniba. First Monday Mass at the Crypt

Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows regularly conducts a First Monday Mass for the Dead at the CTK Crypt at 4 pm. Last February 6, a first Monday, Fr. Ricky Montanez officiated the mass. In attendance were several parishioners whose loved ones were interred or ‘inurned’ in the CTK columbary vaults. The practice of offering the holy Mass for the repose of the soul of the deceased originates in the early church. Bible Enthronement Sunday

January 29th was Bible Enthronement Sunday at Christ the King and its satellite chapels in the various villages of Corinthian Garden, White Plains, Corinthian Hills, Saint Ignatius and Acropolis. January 29 was the culmination of the National Bible Week, which began January 23, 2017. A specific family was identified beforehand to lead the enthronement and the accompanying prayer. Fr. Larry Tan Conducts Healing Service During World Day of the Sick

In celebration of the World Day of the Sick last February 11, the 7:30 pm anticipated mass was presided by Fr. Larry Tan. After the mass, he conducted the Healing Service. Parishioners had been encouraged since the week before to bring their sick elderly relatives and friends for healing of body, mind and spirit. And indeed, a large than usual percentage of the audience consisted of the elderly. Blessing of Candles at the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

The Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord last February 2, a Thursday. At 5:50 am before the 6 am mass, at 6:50 am before the 7 am mass, and at 5:50 pm before the well-attended 6 pm mass, all just outside t h e Divine Mercy Chapel , the congregation gathered for the traditional Blessing of Candles.
