Oplan Covid Update: July 22, 2020 The Mission Continues

CTK-Greenmeadows’ Fr. Steven Zabala and residents from Greenmeadows, turn over to Fr. Ronnie Santos (in red t-shirt) donations of P610,000 in Cash and other items from CTKP-GM community. In-kind donations include 54 sacks of rice, water and other items.

Fr. Ronnie is parish priest of another Christ the King community in Proj. 7. He has been spearheading the Cubao Diocese’s social outreach efforts. The Social Services Development Ministry (SSDM) is prioritizing feeding communities on lockdown.  

Last week, some residents from Greenmeadows proposed if CTK can have a soup kitchen to feed the hungry. I told them CTK doesn’t have enough manpower right now (volunteers/staff) to manage it. I referred them to Cubao SSDM. What started as a simple initiative from some few residents gained wider support from their neighbors.

CTK’s OPLAN COVID, launched in March this year, is the parish community’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic particularly to medical frontliners, nearby poor communities, and needy parishes of the Cubao Diocese.

We continue to be a parish for others.
