Worship Ministry Commissioning: LeComs, EMHCs, and GreCols
The 140-plus renewing lectors-commentators – not including the nine new ones commissioned last August 13 – were formally commissioned by Fr. Bong Tupino during the November 19 9:00 am Sunday mass in front of a full congregation. He mentioned that the lectors-commentators had gone through the renewa l seminar and were deliberately recommitting to be proclaimers of God’s Word. So he thanked the LeComs and asked the congregation to give them a big hand. The LeCom Ministry is led by Mel Novales.
Eight hours later, the 90 – plus renewing Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, or EMHC, were formally commissioned for 2018 duties during the 5:00 pm mass at the same main church.
In his introduction, Fr. Bong told the congregation that these extraordinary ministers had completed the renewal seminar, fulfilled the minimum attendance requirement for the 2017 vocation talks, and were deliberately re-committing themselves to faithfully administering the Eucharist during Communion at mass.
The EMHC are currently led by Overall Coordinator Albert Cuadrante. To recall, last August 27, a record 16 new members were added to the EMHC ranks. CTK Eucharistic Ministers serve in the three daily masses, 10 weekend masses, some of the weekly village masses (Acropolis, Corinthian Hills, White Plains) daily village masses (Corinthian Gardens, St. Ignatius) plus giving communion to the sick in their homes on a weekly basis.
The day before, November 18, at the 7:30 pm mass, the Greeters & Collectors (GreCols) renewing their service for 2018 were similarly commissioned. The GreCols are currently led by Overall Coordinator Jeanette Cagurangan.
