Holy Thursday Vigil at the Altar of Repose

After incensing the Blessed Sacrament at the Holy Thursday rite, Fr. Bong carried it, in formal accompaniment by the CTK Knights of Columbus and under a canopy, to the beautifully adorned Divine Mercy Chapel below the main church, that served as the Altar of Repose.

A simple Eucharistic Vigil followed, from 7 pm to midnight, assigned to the different CTK villages.

The Visita Iglesia period, literally, ‘Seven Churches Visitation’, officially began at this time. In the Philippines and several other Catholic countries, the faithful will travel from church to church praying at each church’s altar of repose.
