Catechism Ministry Calls for Volunteers; Issues 2019 Catechism Class Dates

The Catechetical Ministry released to the Lectors and Commentators liturgical group the draft catechism class dates for 2019 last March 8. The draft still has to get Fr. Steve’s approval. The bulk of the workload is with the CTK scholars under the wings of Ladies of Charity and Knights of Columbus. The new schoolyear starts in June so the Grade 7 to 9 and the Grade 10 to college schedules for Basic Catechism start on June 1, 2019 and ends March 29, 2020. Volunteer Xavier Students Visit CTK

Volunteer Grade 9 students from Xavier School were welcomed and oriented about the CTK during their initial visit last February 24. Accompanied by their CLE Department head Mary Mesina, the 24 students will be involved with Mustard Seed or Coffee After Church greeter assignments in the coming Sundays during the summer. The process was a repeat of the previous Sunday when a smaller group of Xavier School students together with girl student volunteers from Poveda and St. Paul similarly paid a courtesy call on Christ the King Parish. San Jose Seminary Receives PPC Donation

At the February 16 Parish Pastoral Council meeting, the CTK Vocation Ministry, headed by Louie Laudico and Anna Lagman, presented Peter Banico, Worship Ministry co-head and Executive Director of San Jose Seminary, a check for P50,000 representing the ministry’s donation towards the board and lodging for one semester for one seminarian. Last October, I accompanied some pilgrims to the Holy Land. The itinerary included the baptismal site along the Jordan River, mount of temptation, Jericho, Caesarea Philippi, Capernaum, Nazareth, Cana, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Dead Sea, and Samaria. The highlight of the pilgrimage was the visit to the Church of the Sepulchre in Jerusalem and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. These two sites always have the longest lines. Advent officially began at the 6 pm mass on December 1, the first Sunday of Advent. 2019 is Philippine Catholic Church’s Year of the Youth

The Philippine Catholic Church will celebrate 2019 as the ‘Year of the Youth’, in the wake of the World Synod of Bishops on young people that conclude last October 28. Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows celebrated October as Rosary Month in a big way. Another Successful Year for Kingdom of Heaven Fair

The 2018 edition of Kingdom of Heaven Fair was successfully held last October 21, a Sunday, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Parish Social Hall.
