Right after the 6 pm Saturday mass on November 25, Christ the King Parish held the Fiesta Night fellowship and thanksgiving dinner for all Parish Pastoral Council members, Eucharistic ministers, lectors-commentators, greeter collectors, parish staff, village coordinators, and other involved parishioners. CTK parish priest Fr. Bong Tupino formally opened the Fiesta Eve thanksgiving dinner by thanking everyone for coming and doing the grace before meal. Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows formally celebrated its Fiesta Day last November 26, the last Sunday in Ordinary Time. Christ the King Parish announced three initiatives in preparation for the November 2 commemoration of all the faithful departed. First, the parish invited parishioners to write down the names of beloved family members, relatives and friends on the envelope provided at the back of the church and at the parish office and drop these at the designated boxes. The CTK priests prayed for and blessed the names of the departed throughout the November 1 to November 9 novena masses. The Christmas party of CTK’s Parish Pastoral Council, held Wednesday evening, December 13, was a resounding success, as fun, laughter and good fun kept rocking the Social Hall of the Parish Formation Center. The 2017 Advent Season of?icially began December 2-3 with the First Sunday of Advent. As explained by Fr. Bong Tupino in his homily during the 6 pm First Advent mass, the Advent season is not the Christmas season, which only begins on Christmas Eve, December 24, and ends on January 8, 2018. At the December 2 anticipated 6 pm mass, Fr. Bong Tupino III formally announced for the first time that 2018 will be the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons. The new liturgical year kicked off last December 3, the first Sunday of Advent. Last October 17, at the 69th birthday birthday of the head of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cubao, Bishop Honesto F. Ongtioco DD, the Cubao clergy announced its most ambitious project infrastructure project yet, a retirement home for sick and retired priests cum retreat and conference center.
