CTK’s EMHC Conduct Annual Outreach on World Day of the Sick

Every year, in celebration of the World Day of the Sick which is always celebrated on February 11, the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, or EMHCs, of Christ the King Parish, conduct a regular outreach to hospital patients. For 2018, they identiQied the charity ward patients of Quirino Medical Center. Blessing of Candles at the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

The Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord last February 2, a Friday. At 5:50 am before the 6 am mass, at 6:50 am before the 7 am mass, and at 5:50 pm before the well attended 6 pm mass, all just outside the Divine Mercy Chapel, the congregation gathered for the traditional Blessing of Candles. Blessing of Throats on the Feast of Saint Blaise, February 3

Saint Blase was the bishop of Sebaste in Armenia during the fourth century. According to various accounts, he was a physician before becoming a bishop, a ‘physician of souls’. His cult spread throughout the entire Church in the Middle Ages because he was reputed to have miraculously cured a little boy who nearly died because of a fishbone in his throat. Lectors-Commentators Hold First General Assembly, February 17

Christ the King Parish’s lectors and commentators had their first General Assembly for 2018 last February 17, from 10 am to noon, with 71 LeComs in attendance. The LeCom ministry is headed by Lead Coordinator Mel Novales, which is under the Worship Ministry headed by Peter and Leila Banico. The Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion’s (EMHC) annual Lenten Recollection, which includes EMHC spouses as well as retired EMHCs, was held last March 3, 2018, Saturday, at the St. Luke's Room, facilitated by Fr. Confraternity of Mary Mediatrix of All Graces Launches 33-Day Novena

The Confraternity of Mary Mediatrix of All Graces, Christ the King Greenmeadows Chapter, mounted its 33- day novena starting last February 20, in preparation for the total consecration to Jesus through Mary. Fr. Diego Ibarra IVC from Argentina was invited to talk at the kick-off, entitled ‘Spirit of Reparation: Console the Heart of Jesus and Mary’. His talk was based on St. Louise de Monfort’s book , ‘True Devotion to Mary’. Cubao Diocese Clergy

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cubao called for a Plenary Diocesan Assembly last February 20-21, 2018 in Tagaytay and invited all the Cubao clergy, Parish Lay Coordinators, and parish Formation Ministry heads, plus ofQice staff and professional facilitators, for an overnight planning session to formulate the eightpoint priority agenda of the diocese for the next seven years, 2018-2025. The planning was expected to focus on - BECs; formation; clergy; structures and policies; social action; media; stewardship; and catechetics. James Gascon S.J., Pastoral Psychotherapist and Professor at the Loyola School of Theology, and President of Ruben M. Tanseco Center for Family Ministries (RMT-CEFAM), gave a pastoral reQlection on Amoris Laetitia, or, Joy of Love. A Discourse on Christian Giving at First Stewardship Talk, February 24

Last February 24, the CTK Stewardship Committee held the Qirst of its quarterly Spirituality of Stewardship talks at St. Luke Room, with Glen Glorioso, a freelance trainor and advocate of Christian giving, doing the talk. Glen was a former member of Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon - Alabang Chapter, a prayer community of single professionals who practice ‘tithing’ and use the funds to undertake sociallyrelevant outreach projects. Fr. Bong Tupino Celebrates 52nd Birthday with Parishioners

Parishioners and friends of Fr Bong from Christ the King and from his previous parishes joined Fr Bong as he celebrated his 52nd birthday last January 26, 2018, a Friday. His special day commenced with his thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration at 7am, at the Divine Mercy Chapel. The day also happened to also be the Memorial of Saints Timothy and Titus, Bishops.
