Warm Reception for Bishop Ongtioco’s Episcopal Pastoral Visitation

Bishop Honesto Ongtioco was welcomed warmly by the CTK Parish Pastoral Council last June 10 during his Episcopal Pastoral Visitation. The visit was intended to give the Bishop a clear picture of the life of the parish and to give him an opportunity to get to know the parish pastoral council members in a deeper way. Winners Yet Again!

The entire Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows joined hands to congratulate the parish Bible Quiz team of Peter Banico, Sheryl Coronel, and Trix Delena for winning the Diocese of Cubao Bible quiz, called Bible Encounter 2017, last July 22. They bested all the other vicariate Bible Quiz champions and runners-up. Sunrise Ministry’s First Seniors’ Day Assembly

The Ministry for Seniors, also known as ‘Sunrise Ministry’, of Christ the King Parish was launched last April 30, 2017. An exhibit of paintings by members of the Sunrise Artists Group opened at 9 AM, with ribbon cutting by Fr. James Ferry assisted by the ministry’s core members. Our Lady of Peñafrancia Pilgrim Image Visits CTK

The Pilgrim image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia arrived at Christ the King Parish Church last September 3 at 4:30 pm. In a fitting tribute, the 6:30 pm mass was officiated by Archbishop Tito Yllana, the Papal Nuncio to Australia. Our Lady of Peñafrancia is a wooden statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in Naga City, Bicol, Philippines. The image comes from the original image enshrined in Salamanca, Spain. CTK’s Fr. James Ferry Celebrates 92nd Birthday and 61st Anniversary in the Priesthood

Fr. James Ferry, CTK’s regular 9 am Sunday mass presider for over a decade, celebrated his 92nd birthday last June 7. He officiated the 7:30 am mass last June 11 and then joined the loyal parishioners for coffee and snack at the CAC tent after the mass. Fr. Bong Tupino prepared a birthday cake for the birthday celebrant. The American priest who arrived in the Philippines with Gen. Formally Closing CTK’s Flores de Mayo Activities

CTK wrapped up the month of May with the formal closing of the Parish Flores de Mayo last May 31, a Wednesday, which also happened to be the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As had been done for the last 30 days, it began with the praying of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, then praying of the rosary, the flower offering by attendees, and finally the blessing of images of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Fr. Ronald Plomillo Celebrates 22nd Sacerdotal Anniversary

Fr. Ronald Plomillo, Rector of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Seminary (Marbel Diocese in Southern Mindanao) and a regular guest priest of Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows, celebrated his 22nd anniversary in the priesthood last June 1 in a simple morning mass ceremony at the Divine Mercy Chapel, with Fr. Bong Tupino, Bishop Raul Martirez, Fr. Serge Maniba, and Msgr. Antonio Mortillero as co-celebrants. Appeal for New Lectors-Commentators and EMHCs

The EMHC, led by Albert Cuadrante, had been looking for new potential EMHC candidates during the month of June. A new twist in their recruitment drive was to ask the lectors and commentators, who are mostly female, if their husbands might be interested. The final list of names had to be submitted by July since the Basic Formation for new EMHCs is scheduled for August 19. New Prayers After Daily Masses Effective June 15

New prayers after the daily masses had been recently instituted at CTK, effective June 15. After Monday masses, the commentator will lead the Prayer to St. Joseph; after Tuesday masses, prayers include ‘Oratio Imperata for Deliverance From Calamities’ as well as ‘Prayer to San Lorenzo Ruiz’; after Wednesday masses, parishioners pray the ‘Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help’; after Thursday masses, the congregation prays the ‘Oratio Imperata for Peace’ followed by the ‘Prayer to San Pedro Calungsod’; after Friday masses, it’s the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus’; after Saturday masses,…continue reading →
