Thousands of Catholics, including over 50 parishioners from Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows, joined a threehour pre-dawn march with church leaders around the Quirino Grandstand parade grounds in Rizal Park, Manila in one of the largest shows of opposition to President Rodrigo Duterte's deadly crackdown against illegal drugs and attempts to revive the death penalty. 20 of the 50-strong CTK contingent gathered as early as 3 am and Jilled up a tour bus from JKL Tours. CTK parish priest Father Bong Tupino had always argued that CTK parish does a decent job of ministering to the pre-school children through the Mustard Seed Ministry, to the youth through the Youth Ministry and PREX Youth, to the families and married couples through the Family & Life Ministry, but there continues to be a void as far as ministering to the elderly is concerned. Buklod ng Panginoon, one of the renewal movements in Christ the King Parish but localized to Barangay St. Ignatius, celebrated the 2016 Christmas season with several projects. One was the Share a Toy, Share a Joy program, to benefit the kids at Libis. Buklod leaders put up a large drop box for the toy donations at their parish center. The Libis kids were later picked up and treated to a Jollibee children’s party at St. Ignatius.
