The Ladies of Charity (LOC) held a Christmas party last December 15 for the beneficiaries of their feeding program at Libis Elementary School. A hundred first and second- graders from Libis Elementary School are currently in the program. With recommendation from the school administration, beneficiaries had been chosen based on nutritional needs, and their family and financial background.

LES principal Chelma Cabatic opened the program with welcome remarks and extended her thanks to Christ the King Parish for its continuing support for the school. The kids were given a special Jollibee treat of fried chicken and spaghetti. Some of the ladies also donated fresh apples and chocolates for the children.

The children prepared a song followed by a dance number. Each child left the Christmas party with a goodie bag.

Two weeks earlier, on November 28, seven CTK parishioners who are regulars in the CTK morning exercise group at St. Luke’s Room decided to band together and share their blessings with the kids of Libis Elementary School. In coordination with LOC, they brought food and cheer to the 100 children under the CTK-LOC feeding program. The exercise group is headed by LOC ladies Melanie Aquino and Tessie Saulog. The other ladies who chipped in included: Irene Almario, Digna Pastor, Nellie Alleje, Diana Gozum, and Marcia Fong.
