Christ the King featured three new images at the Santo Entierro Procession last Good Friday, March 30. The three new images included:

  1. Image of St. Joseph of Arimathea, who, according to all four canonical Gospels, assumed responsibility for the burial of Jesus after His crucifixion.
  2. Image of St. Salome, the wife of Zebedee and mother of Apostles James and John and cousin of Mary, mother of Jesus. In Roman Catholic tradition, Salome is counted as one of three Marys.
  3. Image of St. Nicodemus, a secret disciple of Jesus. As a Sanhedrin, he would meet Jesus by night so that others would not see him with Jesus.

Without any effort, the Worship Ministry was able to quickly secure benefactors for the three new images. Existing images that had been used in previous years’ Santo Entierro include:

‣  Image of St. Peter
‣  Image of St. Veronica
‣ Image of St. Martha
‣  Image of the Santo Entierro
‣  Image of Mary Magdalene
‣  Image of St. John the Beloved
