Dioceses build homes for retired priests Fr. Steven Zabala, vice chancellor of the Diocese of Cubao, recalls the story of a retired priest who had no family to take care of him in his old age. “I was a seminarian then, but it really struck an emotional chord in me that some retired priests are not being taken care of. After their service to the Catholic Church and people, they deserve to be taken care of,” Zabala said. For the Parish Outreach Sunday last January 21st, Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows adopted the Holy Family Parochial School in Roxas, Quezon City on the occasion of Parochial Schools’ Month in the Diocese of Cubao. A call was made to support the school's teachers who receive relatively low remuneration. For February 18, the third Sunday…continue reading →

CTK Parish Celebrates a Solemn Ash Wednesday, February 14
February 14, Ash Wednesday, opened the 2018 Lenten Season, a season of fasting, prayer and alms-giving. It came much earlier than last year’s Ash Wednesday which was celebrated on March 1, 2017. It comes from the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting. The practice includes the wearing of ashes on the head, symbolizing the…continue reading →
