CTK Celebrates Feast with Novena, Fiesta Mass

Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows celebrated its fiesta day last November 25, the Solemnity of Christ the King and the last Sunday in Ordinary Time. The special day of days was preceded by nine days of 6 pm novena masses, from November 16 to November 24, except for November 18, a Sunday, where the novena mass was at the regular 6:30 pm time. CTK Hosts Fiesta Eve Fellowship Dinner

Nearly 300 Parish Pastoral Council members and involved parishioners helped celebrate the Feast of Christ the King with a Parish Fiesta Fellowship celebration dinner following the ninth novena mass last November 24 for all Parish Pastoral Council members, Eucharistic ministers, lectors- commentators, greeter-collectors, parish staff, village coordinators, and other involved parishioners. Bishop Honesto F. Ongtioco Celebrates Seven Decades

A Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral on Lantana St., Cubao, at 6 pm on October 20 marked Bishop Ongtioco’s 70th birthday. It was followed with a festive dinner-program at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral High School gym. Then on the morning of December 8, Bishop Ness celebrated his 46th Presbyteral Anniversary with the mass on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Cubao Cathedral. 2019 Commissioning for LeComs, EMHCs, GreCols

The renewing batch of lectors and commentators were formally ’commissioned’ by the Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows parish priest Fr. Steve Zabala last Sunday, November 18, during the noon mass. A total of 95 LeComs were in attendance, with 45 absent, for a total of 140 renewing lectors-commentators for 2019. They join the 12 new lectors-commentators who had been commissioned earlier, for a total of 152 expected active Lectors- Commentators in 2019. Fr. CTK Annual Confirmation Rites for Forty Confirmands

The CTK parish, through its Catechetical Ministry, headed by Alma Yeh and Sheryl Coronel, held the annual Kumpilang Bayan, or 2018 Confirmation Rite, last November 17, Saturday, at 9 am at the main church. The confirmation rite was officiated by no less that our Most Reverend Bishop Raul Martirez. During his homily, Bishop Raul mentioned that Confirmation means receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. CTK Unveils New Parish Logo

The new parish logo was unveiled during the Parish Fiesta Fellowship last November 24. The journey to a new logo began when Fr. Steve arrived and the problem was posed – after 40 years as a parish and 30 years with a new church, Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows never had a consistent logo, with various symbols and imagery being adopted at different times to capture the spirit and essence of the parish. Annual First Communion Rites at CTK

CTK held its annual Qirst communion rites last November 17, Saturday, 2 pm at the Divine Mercy Chapel. 30 children received their first Holy Eucharist from Fr. Louie Punzalan SVD, the current chaplain of the De La Salle High School. The children were were from public schools, international schools or home- schooled, which do not offer this service. In 2016, there were eight first communicants; last year, there were 20, or a 150% increase. This year saw a 50% jump in the number. Msgr. Morti: Turning 83 and Still Going Strong

Monsignor Tony Mortillero celebrated his 83rd birthday last November 13 with fellow priests, PPC members and close parishioners after the 6 pm concelebrated mass at the Divine Mercy Chapel. Actually, Msgr. Morti’s birthday was last November 5 but due to scheduling conflicts, the celebration was moved a week later. Concelebrating the thanksgiving- birthday mass were Bp. CTK PPC Sponsors Four Young Parishioners to Life Directions Workshop

A total of 22 participants, four of whom were sponsored by Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows’ Vocation Ministry, headed by Louie Laudico and Anna Lagman, graduated last September 30 from the Life Directions Retreat Weekend of Fr. Ted Gonzales. Fr. Ari Dy, President of Xavier School, was the guest speaker for the Stewardship Committee’s quarterly formation talk held last September 22. It forms part of the committee’s continuing Spirituality of Stewardship series and in celebration of the 13th year anniversary of ‘Stewardship as a Way of Life’ in the CTK parish. Fr.
