2nd Commissioning for 2019 Liturgical Ministers

The 2nd commissioning of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion or EMHCs was held during the January 13, Sunday, 10:30 am mass. A total of 15 additional EMHCs were commissioned. Earlier that day, at the 9 am mass, 42 additional lectors and commentators were formally commissioned at the 2nd commissioning of LeComs by Fr. Steve Zabala. This second commissioning was arranged to make sure that the EMHCs and LeComs who failed to attend the the last one held last November 18 had another chance to get accredited for 2019. Lecom Liturgical Ministry Holds First General Assembly

The Lectors and Commentators Liturgical Ministry, headed by Mel Novales, under the Worship Ministry led by Leila Banico, held its first General Assembly last February 23 at the St. Matthew and Mark Rooms. Originally scheduled for 9 am, the schedule was rearranged to 8 am to accommodate the arrival of the heart relic of St. Camillus de Lellis later that morning. OLPH Vicariate Holds DCPA 8 Orientation at CTK

CTK Parish Greenmeadows hosted the first Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Vicariate General Assembly for 2019 last February 18. Delegates totalled 110, with each of the seven parishes under the vicariate, including CTK, sending from 5 to 20 PPC officers each. Specifically, San Roque sent 20, Nativity of the Lord 20, Perpetual Help had 19, Christ the King had 17, Our Lady of Miraculous Medal sent 16, and Transfiguration of Our Lord with 5 participants. Fr. In gratitude for their unselfish service to the CTK community, Fr. CTK Lights Up for Christmas Festivities

The traditional CTK front garden Christmas tree was set and lit up on the first Saturday of Advent, December 1 in time for the 6 pm anticipated mass. At the same time, the altar was decorated tastefully with lighted lanterns, wreaths with Christmas point lights, and lace swags. The belen was also set up, with a pregnant Mary, Joseph and a donkey. Traditional Midnight Masses Celebrated at Parish Church and Villages

The Christmas Vigil Masses last December 24th were held at 6 pm, 8 pm, and 10 pm and marked with significant drama. Celebrated by Fr. Steve Zabala, offered by the CTK Parish Pastoral Council and sung to by the CTK Youth Choir, the 10 pm mass, the one that drew the biggest crowd, began with ‘lights out’ as a group of selected Mustard Seed children led the offertory, carrying lighted candles. Family & Life Ministry Launches SSA Series with Courage Talk

January 20 saw the CTK Family & Life Ministry stage the ‘Pastoral Accompaniment for Persons Experiencing Same Sex Attraction’. The talk was given by Brother Edwin Valles, President of Courage Philippines, a Catholic apostolate for persons experiencing same sex attraction, from 10 to 12 noon at St. Luke Room. The CTK Family and Life Ministry held a talk for the Ladies of Charity scholars last March 2 on the topic, ‘The Theology of the Body and Christian Anthropology’. Guest speaker was Bro.
